Ray C. Fritz

Ray C. Fritz, born June 7, 1948, was raised by his grandparents on the Highlands Ranch in Colorado, where his grandpa was foreman. In 1966 he graduated from Bear Creek High School and that fall he joined the national intercollegiate rodeo association. He served in the US Navy in Viet Nam from 1968 to 1973. In 1976 he married Jackie Johnson, moved to Wyoming, and began work on the Harrower Ranches at Cokeville, Kemmerer, Opal, Fontenelle Creek, and Big Piney. The cattle and horses were fed with teams and along with the ranch work many days were spent driving teams pulling stagecoaches at parades or rodeos. Many days also were spent using the teams or oxen making films about the Oregon Trail. In 2023 Ray was riding for the Riverside Livestock of LaBarge making 47 years of ranch work in Wyoming.
